Come back after a quiet afternoon and she might have a note waiting: three things you told her about the same trip, gathered onto one shelf, with a line about what she noticed. You didn't ask; she just does that.

Then let her into your browser — ChatGPT, Claude and Gemini need this bit
The app is Abigail herself — her shelves, and the memory she hands to Claude Desktop. If you use your AI in a browser tab, which is most people, this second step is the one that matters: without it she has no way to see the conversation. It takes about a minute, once, in Chrome or Edge.
She's tuned for Claude · ChatGPT · Gemini · Mistral · Meta AI, and rides along on Perplexity · Copilot · Grok · DeepSeek · Google AI Studio · Poe · T3 Chat · Qwen — thirteen in all, plus any AI you host yourself.
- Install the app first, and leave it running.
- Download her browser companion and unzip it somewhere you'll keep it.
- Open
chrome://extensions— Edge users,edge://extensions— and turn on Developer mode. - Choose Load unpacked, point it at the folder you just unzipped, and that's her, settled in.
She's waiting on the Chrome Web Store's review queue; when that clears this becomes a single click, and she'll keep herself updated from then on.
On a Mac, her first opening takes one extra click
The Windows installer is signed as Mediagato LLC, so it opens straight away. On a Mac she isn't yet — Apple's stamp is a separate piece of paperwork we haven't finished — so macOS will stop her the very first time and say it can't check who made her. It's the standard warning for a small workshop, not a verdict on her.
- Drag Abigail into your Applications folder as usual.
- Right-click her there — Control-click works too — and choose Open.
- Click Open once more in the dialog. That's it; from then on she opens with a double-click like anything else.
On macOS 15 Sequoia, or if right-click didn't take: double-click her, click Done on the warning, then go to System Settings → Privacy & Security, scroll down to the line saying Abigail was blocked, and choose Open Anyway.
Free, and staying that way — the core of her always is, including the shelves. It runs on your hardware, not ours: nothing to host, nothing to sell. There will be an Abigail Pro one day for watcher units and syncing her across your own devices, and everyone who takes her home before it exists keeps the free core for good.
